The 3rd meeting of the “There is No Planet B. Rethink” #Erasmus+ project was hosted by Fide Schools. From February 5-9, 2024, we welcomed students and teachers from Denmark, Portugal, and Greece in Istanbul.
During the week-long meeting, all teams worked to find creative ways to combat waste and consumption. Throughout the week, various activities were conducted under the theme of "Refuse," focusing on sustainability and waste management. The week began with presentations of action plans that each country planned to implement in their school communities. Group work was conducted to create digital posters related to these action plans.
Students also visited the Kadıköy Municipality Ecological Living Center and the Zero Waste Shop, where they gained detailed insights into the municipality's "Zero Waste Movement."
Students participating in the art, music, and wood workshops created paintings using kitchen waste (tea, coffee, red cabbage), composed songs for the project, and made pencil holders from scrap wood pieces.
The program for visiting students and teachers in Istanbul included visits to the Archaeology Museum, the Basilica Cistern, and the Historic Peninsula, leaving wonderful impressions.
Participation certificates were awarded to all students in a ceremony held on the final day.
In April, 8th-grade students from Fide Middle School will travel to Denmark with their peers from Portugal and Greece for the final mobility of the two-year Erasmus+ project “There is No PLANet B. Rethink” (Project Number: 2022-1-DK01-KA220-SCH-000087738).
