A Capella Fide won the Grand Prize, the highest award given for the best performance in all categories, at the Fiestalonia Milenio World of Choirs held in Rimini, Italy. With this award, a Turkish children's choir has won the Grand Prize for the first time.
Our students also competed in two categories and won the ''Silver Diploma'' in the Children's Choir category.
The Fide Climbing Team achieved outstanding success at the Inter-School Sports Climbing Turkish Championship for Juniors and Kids held in Nevşehir from May 26-28, 2024. Our Junior Girls Climbing Team won the Turkish Championship, and our Mixed Junior Climbing Team also secured the Turkish Championship. Additionally, our Mixed Kids Climbing Team placed 3rd in Turkey, the Junior Boys Climbing Team placed 3rd in Turkey, the Kids Boys Climbing Team placed 3rd in Turkey, and the Kids Girls Climbing Team placed 4th in Turkey.
The Fide Climbing Team achieved remarkable success at the Inter-School Sports Climbing Turkish Championship for Stars held in Trabzon from May 10-14, 2024. Our Star Girls and Mixed Star School Climbing Teams won the Turkish Championship, while our Star Boys Climbing Team secured 2nd place in Turkey.
At the Go Tournament organized by the Istanbul Go School on March 6, 2024, our 4th-grade student Mete and 5th-grade student Baran completed the tournament undefeated and won first place medals in the individual category.
At the Turkish Bouldering Championship for Kids organized by the Turkish Mountaineering Federation on February 3-4 in Isparta, our 7th-grade student Zeynep and 6th-grade student Yiğit became Turkish Champions. In the same competition, our 6th-grade student Mavi placed 4th, our 7th-grade student Ali Çağan placed 5th, and our 5th-grade student Akın placed 7th.
At the 3rd Winter Go Tournament held by the Istanbul Go School on January 6, 2024, our 4th-grade student Mete and 5th-grade students Bahar and Baran completed all 3 rounds with victories and became champions. With this result, the Fide Schools Go Team won the 1st place trophy in the tournament.
A Capella Fide won a bronze medal in June at the International Choir Competition and Festival Sound Waves Linz held in Linz, Austria, where 17 choirs from 13 countries participated.

In the 5th Go Tournament organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Istanbul, Fide Schools' 4th-grade students Mehmet Bulut, Oktay, and Bahar successfully completed all 3 rounds and became champions.
Our students met with Astra Nova students, Elon Musk's online school. Both student groups discussed the problem situations they had created and identified the best solutions together. We congratulate our students and teachers who participated in this exciting meeting!

In the thematic approach, students experience holistic learning through interconnected subjects. We begin the learning journey with a big question that sparks our curiosity.
We progress with the thematic approach in each age group. For example, while the theme of "Art" is addressed throughout the entire school, each grade level examines a different subtopic of art.
This holistic and interdisciplinary structure, along with answers to the big question, provides the child with similar or different perspectives on many fields.
Considering the developmental characteristics of children, it is known that they perceive information as part of a whole and that experiencing it through integrated activities has a lasting impact on their learning. The thematic approach guides us in making these learnings unique and permanent.
Through the thematic approach, a holistic network of relationships is created across different learning areas such as art, mathematics, science, and Turkish. The child explores and internalizes this network of relationships in a way that suits their curiosity and learning style.
At Fide, learning during the early years occurs through six main themes: My Story, Art, Systems, Time, Nature, and Wellness-Health.
Each theme lasts for six weeks, and there are significant ideas we aim to reach by the end of these themes. Fundamental questions are crucial in the process that leads us to these significant ideas. These questions open the door to the topics we wish to explore and deepen the content. They are open to discussion and create an environment for generating new ideas. Lessons to be learned under each theme are determined, and holistic stories that connect these lessons are created.
In the thematic approach, we design educational stories that include all subjects. For example, when covering the topic of "Migration" as a sub-theme of "Time" in 4th grade, we aim to reach the big idea that "Living beings move from one place to another for various reasons" through various questions: What is migration? Why do people migrate? Is migration a choice? What are the significant migrations in human history from past to present? How do living beings decide where to migrate? How do people affect the societies they migrate to?
While searching for these answers, we ask our students to create written stories related to the concepts they have learned in the theme.
In our thematic studies, we aim to help students develop a perspective that allows them to see the whole and the network of relationships. We support students in visualizing their thinking, developing habits that foster critical thinking, and diversifying the tools they can use in this regard.
