Kemal Şahin graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations in 1987. He started his career in 1992 as an Assistant Inspector at T. Vakıflar Bankası Inspection Board. In 1995, he became Assistant Manager at Vakıfbank Istanbul Securities Center, followed by roles as Manager at Vakıf Yatırım Menkul Değerler AŞ from 1997 to 2000, and Deputy General Manager from 2000 to 2004.
In 2004, Şahin was appointed as Branch Manager at Vakıfbank Levent Branch, and in 2006, he was appointed as Regional Manager for the Marmara Region. From 2007 onwards, he held various positions within Vakıfbank, including Istanbul 2nd Regional Manager and Istanbul 4th Regional Manager.
Between 2008 and 2012, he served as Auditor at Güneş Sigorta AŞ. Concurrently, from 2011 to 2015, he held the position of Istanbul 1st Regional Manager and served as Chairman of the Board at Vakıf Portföy Yönetimi AŞ starting in 2015. From 2015 to 2020, he served as General Manager and Board Member at Vakıf Yatırım Menkul Değerler AŞ. During his tenure at Vakıf Yatırım Menkul Değerler AŞ, he also served as a Board Member at Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Teknoloji Geliştirme Bölgesi Sağlık Teknokenti AŞ from 2018 to 2020.
Kemal Şahin, who is married and has one child, is currently the Chairman of the Board at Fide Schools.
