Sevinç Atabay, who graduated from Gazi University's English Language Teaching Department, started her career in 1980 at the Ministry of National Education, where she served as the equivalence officer for UK and US education diplomas at the Board of Education. She worked in the development of foreign language programs and early age language teaching practices and chaired book writing commissions.

She served as the Education Attaché in Chicago, USA, and received education at Harold Washington College. In 1994, she completed the Certificate Program in Adult Education at Banbury & Bicester College in the UK and taught adults at the State Language School.

From 2000 to 2006, she worked as the Coordinator of Community Programs (Education, Science Research, and Youth) at the General Secretariat for the European Union, Turkey-Brussels, and retired in 2006 from her positions at the Board of Education and the EU General Secretariat.

Between 2006 and 2021, Atabay concurrently served as the General Manager of the Turkish Education Association and TED Ankara College Foundation Schools.

She has been actively involved in various civil society organizations related to education, youth, and social entrepreneurship, and has conducted studies on climate change and its impacts. She has authored books on Education-Teaching and EU Education Policies (EU Education Programs, Comenius-School Education, What Does the 6th Framework Program Bring to Turkey?, Education in the EU Accession Process, EU Education Policies) and published articles (Understanding Young Generations, The Impact of Space and Architecture on Education Success, Play and Learning, Innovation in Education, Towards Hybrid Humans, Learning Agility, From Industry 4.0 to Society 5.0).

Sevinç Atabay, a Board Member of Fide Schools, is married and has one child.
