Born in Diyarbakır in 1986, Uğur Kaya entered the Department of Fine Arts (Painting-Sculpture) at Kocaeli University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2005. He volunteered at ÇAÇA Association (Under the Same Roof with Children), organizing children's festivals in Batman, Mardin, and Diyarbakır. He received young leaders training in Sweden for one month. At ÇAÇA (Diyarbakır), he served as the Art Workshop Coordinator and Project Manager professionally from 2009 to 2013. He was awarded the "2013 Young Social Entrepreneur" prize from Bilgi University.
He received training on "Trauma" from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serra Müderrisoğlu at Boğaziçi University, as well as training on "Child Approach and Sensitivity" and "Critical Situation Resolution and Prevention of Domestic Violence". He also received training on "Leadership" from Bilgi University. In 2014, he worked as the Coordinator at the 3rd Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial. He served as the Art Educator and Project Manager in the Firefly Education Program at TEGV (Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation). From 2014 to 2018, he worked as an Art Teacher in various schools. He was also an Art Educator at Borusan Contemporary Perili Köşk Museum. He works with refugee children at SKYGD (Association for Developing Social and Cultural Life) and supports ÇOÇA (Children's Studies Unit at Istanbul Bilgi University) and KODA (Village Schools Change Network).
In addition, he continues his identity as an artist by participating in various exhibitions (2016 Imago Mundi Italy, 2009 Munzur Culture and Nature Festival, 40's/Unity in Diversity, Diversity in Unity exhibition in Tunceli, EngelSizSiniz Diyarbakır).
Uğur Kaya serves as the Visual Arts Teacher at Fide Schools Serpil Yazıcı Campus.
