Yaprak Angie Önel migrated with her family to Sydney, Australia in 1972. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a degree in International Relations in 1990. In 1995, she settled in Turkey where she lived for many years before returning to Sydney to pursue her dream of becoming an English teacher. She received her education in English Teaching at International Teaching College Sydney and graduated in 2008. For two years, she worked as an educator at Rockdale College Sydney, teaching English to immigrants who did not speak English, and as an ESL English Teacher at Colonial Preschool Sydney.
In 2012, she returned to Istanbul to teach at Irmak Schools and Ocean Preschool as a Native English Teacher. She also completed the Oxford University Teacher’s Academy-Principles and Practices for Teaching English program in 2012.
She enjoys reading books, spending time with her daughter, and drinking Turkish coffee with friends.
She works as an English Teacher at Fide Schools Idealtepe Campus.
